Een onderwerp dat veel aandacht kreeg tijdens SABCS 2019 was de mogelijkheid om residuale ziekte na neoadjuvante therapie te meten middels minimaal invasieve biopsie technieken. Dr. Marie-Jeanne Vrancken, oncologisch chirurg in het NKI-AvL, geeft toelichting op de verschillende bestudeerde strategieen, waaronder die in de Nederlandse MICRA-studie en geeft haar interpretatie en conclusie voor de praktijk van vandaag:
